Jessica Simpson SANS FARDS On Marie Claire

Marie Claire claims they gave their Photoshoppers and make-up artists the day off when shot Jessica Simpson for their SANS FARDS cover. This cover could also be called "Xtina's Idea Of Hell."

Jessica says she agreed to go make-up-less in order to promote her new initiative called "A Beautiful Me," which encourages young girls to love themselves or some shit. Jessica added, "I don't have anything to prove anymore. What other people think of me is not my business."

I know most of you are throwing Jess a "Ho Please Stop" look sponsored by Maybelline, but I'm sure she's telling the truth.

That's not concealer on her skin. That's a $5,000 tinted moisturizer made out of charbroiled placentas. That's not lip gloss on her lips. Ken Paves' butt blew an air kiss on her lips (his farts shimmer). And that's not mascara on her lashes. Jess' lashes are just permanently singed from that time Papa Joe flashed his nipples at her first thing in the morning.

Q&A With Dancing Queen Courtney Lavine!
Anyone who has watched the (now classic) dance movie "Center Stage" knows that ballet isn't all tutus and pirouettes--it's hard work and only an elite few can handle the enormous physical and mental toll it takes on its performers. At the age of 20, Courtney Lavine has already proven herself more than capable of rising to the challenge, making a name for herself as a member of the prestigious American Ballet Theater (ABT). Read on as Courtney shares her thoughts on ballet, beauty, nutrition and more!

What inspired you to start dancing?
What really inspired me to start dancing was how the body could bend and twist to make such beautiful movements. It looked so elegant to me even at a young age. I really wanted to try it.

What has been your biggest hurdle, and how did you overcome it?
My biggest hurdle has been trying to control my arms and legs when I dance because they are so long. I still struggle with it from time to time, but I do a lot of exercises to strengthen my core muscles. I also used to struggle with being confident when I was younger, but over time, I learned to just focus on myself in ballet class and on improving my technique, and it really helped.

Is there a style of dance outside of ballet that you have or might like to explore?
I've tried jazz and tap but I would really love to learn how to ballroom dance. I watch a lot of "Dancing with the Starts" and it looks like so much fun.

Outside of the studio, what does your fitness routine consist of?
I do a lot of Pilates to stay in shape. When we are off, I like to swim and use the elliptical to keep my stamina.

If you weren't a ballerina, what would you like to be doing?
I would love to be a photographer. I've always loved taking pictures and after my career in ballet is over, I'm thinking that's something I'd really like to do.

Is there a performer (not necessarily from the ballet field) that influences/inspires you?
I loved watching the Olympics this winter and all of the athletes. Their drive and determination was so motivating for me. Maybe one day, ballet will be in the Olympics?? :)

What do you like doing when you're not practicing or performing?
When I'm not practicing or performing, I love to go to a movie or have dinner with friends. I try to do that at least once a week. I also like being outdoors and taking my dog to the park.

What do you wear out of the studio - how do you transition your dance wardrobe to fit your street style?
I try to keep up with the latest fashion trends, but I also have to be comfortable. I find myself buying cute leotards and pairing them with a nice skirt and belt. I love that leggings are in right now because they are so comfortable.

How does your beauty routine differ from stage to real life?
When I'm on stage, I have to wear tons and tons of makeup, things like pancake makeup and giant fake eye lashes; the audience needs to be able to see my face from the back of the house. But in real life, I usually only wear mascara and some blush for a natural look.

What are your favorite products?
My favorite products would have to be Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara , Make-Up Forever Matte Foundation , and Bare Escentuals facial line Rare Minerals to keep my skin clear.

Do you follow a certain diet?
I don't follow a certain diet but what I do is eat healthy. Lots of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and lean meats. I try not to eat fast food but I do treat myself once in a while.

What is your go-to snack to fuel yourself through long workouts?
To refuel during the day, I like having vegetables with hummus and hard-boiled eggs. Trail mix is great and I've got to have my PB&J.

What is your major indulgence/guilty pleasure (food, clothes, TV)?
I must say my guilty pleasure would be watching "Family Guy." It is my favorite TV show. I'm sure I've seen every episode. I also love to shop on the weekend but I try not to spend too much money.

Smooch-worthy! Maybelline Shine Sensational
By now, it’s probably pretty obvious that a LOT of beauty products cross my desk on a weekly basis. And while there are a lot that I eyeball and then dump into the pass-along pile, lip gloss never, ever falls into that category.  I simply can’t get enough. And it’s a good thing too, because if it did, I might have missed out on the new Shine Sensational lip glosses by Maybelline. Included in the official Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week press bags (Maybelline is the official makeup sponsor), these ultra-juicy and appropriately glossy lippies smell and taste just like candy!  Best of [...]

Orange Aid
How pretty (and wearable!) is this orange-tinted lip at Max Azria? I can't wait to get my hands on the shade--which is by... Drumroll, please... Maybelline! Hurrah for drugstore steals!

Backstage at Max Azria
This makeup look isn't super dramatic or groundbreaking, but it's still one of my personal faves of the week: It's so simple yet pretty, easy to achieve for normal people who aren't makeup pros, and definitely wearable for teens! Maybelline New York Global Makeup Artist Charlotte Willer combined a bright coral-orange lipstick (created exclusively for this show) with lip balm and patted it onto the lips with her finger. Then she dabbed just the middle of the lips with the lipstick, adding a bit more color to create a "blossoming flower" effect. (To me, it looks like the model just finished eating an orange popsicle.) On the lashes, she used Maybelline Lash Stiletto Voluptuous Mascara, focusing on the outer corners to create a subtle cat-eye shape without eyeliner. (Don't her lashes look so long and fluttery?? LOVE it!) The real info I'm waiting on, though, is whether the coral-orange lipstick shade--currently called "Backstage #4"--will be made available to the public. I hear it may launch Fall, but it's not set in stone... (Maybelline peeps, if you're reading this, please PLEASE put it in stores!!)

Backstage at Erin Wasson x RVCA
Woah nellie, the look (and atmosphere) at Erin Wasson X RVCA was funky! Charlotte Willard with Maybelline New York was backstage...er...downstairs at the home wares mecca ABC Carpet (seriously, if you've never been, GO! It's like a gypsy fairy-tale wonderland). "We're doing a really smoky taupe eye with the new Maybelline Eye Studio Color Plush Silk Eyeshadow, and using the Faux Cils Mascara, which is coming out in June. Erin wanted a very natural, sunkissed healthy beautiful girl, so then we used bronzer and illuminator on the cheeks. Underneath the bottom lip in the middle we drew a really short line with a dark brown eyebrow pencil to make it a little more interesting. We also drew out one of the eyebrows and make it really crazy emphasized, but only on one side!" Meanwhile, I heard Erin herself giving an interview in which she said, "I wanted the girls to look beautiful, but to really be a little off." With the one wonky brow and the line beneath the lip, balanced with gorgeous taupe eyes and glowing skin, the look was spot on!

Kevin Ryan and Frank Rizzieri were also backstage tending to the hair. "We're doing a sort of hippie, sexy girl with a few crimps. We wanted it to look natural and not too done. We teased and crimped it a little underneath so that it has a lot of volume and so that it would have all over great texture. The only product we used was Spirulina Hair Spray to give the hair texture, and a little Batiste Dry Shampoo." I can attest that Batiste Dry Shampoo is the BEST! Seriously, of all I've tried, it's my fave. The forceful spray is amazing, and really the stuff undoes everything from second day hair to product OD. Pick some up at Rickysnyc.com!

Get the Look: Jennifer Lopez
You may not be able to get Jennifer Lopez’s signature curves and you may not want the unsightly bodysuit that she wore on New Year’s Eve, but you can get her sexy makeup look, created by her long-time makeup artist and friend Scott Barnes. “The key to this look is rimming the inside of the eyes with a charcoal pencil,” says Barnes, who loves Maybelline’s Expert Eyes liners. Barnes then smudged grey and black shadows to create an elongated smoky eye, giving Jennifer sultry, stand-out definition. To take the look to the next level, Barnes used Duo Eyelash Adhesive to adhere Swarovski [...]

Maybelline Great Lash BIG: Love It!
My lash type: Long, dark, slight curlA A

I tested: Maybelline Great Lash BIGA

Thoughts: I was pleasantly surprised at how great this mascara is! Every makeup artist in the industry says that Maybelline Great Lash is the go to basic black mascara. Well, unfortunately the small wand on the industry standard never did anything amazing for my lashes. Here comes along the BIG version and I can truly say that I'm a fan. The wand provides so much oomph! to my otherwise lackluster lashes. I use it in Blackest Black and adore how rich and full my lashes look. Ladies, this is a mascara to keep in your makeup bag.A

Lumma Design takes on the Porsche Panamera with the CLR 700GT

Lumma Design porsche Panamera CLR 700GT - Click above for image gallery

Beauty, they say, is in the eye of the beholder. And with the whole world beholding the new Porsche Panamera, the myriad tuning firms specializing in Zuffenhausen's finest have been lining up in an effort to give the new four-door a makeover. Following earlier mods released by Gemballa and 9ff , German tuning house Lumma Design has released its take on the Panamera.

Codified as the CLR 700GT, Lumma's Panamera packs a widebody kit with a new front end, engorged wheel arches housing 22-inch rims and upgraded brakes riding on a suspension dropped by 1.38 inches, and joined by sills that look like they could hold a small reference library. Around back there's a big ol' carbon fiber rear wing and a revised rear bumper with aerodynamic diffuser and quad tailpipes. Underneath the slatted carbon fiber hood Lumma is said to have cranked out an eponymous 700 metric horsepower. Together with the trio of renderings in the gallery below, that's all the details available for the time being. Whether Lumma's latest is an improvement on the original or comes closer to slapping Maybelline on a hog is, of course, entirely a matter of opinion, and we invite you to express yours in our comments section below.

Cheap Thrill:Maybelline SuperStay Concealer
While I’ve encountered many great concealers over the years (Cle de Peau, Bobbi Brown and Max Factor, among them), I’m ALWAYS interested in testing the newest in the hopes it might be my ‘holy grail’. My latest try is Maybelline’s new SuperStay Concealer and I’m impressed! This long-wearing, yet lightweight, formula stays flawless (no creases in the undereye area) and doesn’t budge for hours. (Maybelline claims 24 hours, but I always make it a point to remove my makeup before bed, so I can’t weigh in on that!) There’s quite a bit of coverage as well and the wand applicator makes application a [...]

Backstage at Alexandre Herchcovitch
Yesterday I made my way to the crowded tent at Bryant Park for a backstage visit with hair and makeup artists at Alexander Herchcovitch.  It was great to catch up with makeup aficionado Charlotte Willard, who was busy creating flawless faces for the spectacle.  The look for the season is "all about being super natural," Charlotte explained.   The girls emerged looking ready for a beautiful spring day.  Charlotte used Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer and Foundation, which left the skin clear and incredibly smooth.  For the eyes, she chose Maybelline Mineral Power Naturally Luminous Blush in True PeachE?such a fabulous idea, which I'll surely be trying for the upcoming season.  The peachy-pink color is subtle and refreshing, and it is an easy way to avoid the harsh look of too much eye shadow.  She topped the eye off with Maybelline Lash Stiletto and then added blush in Gentle Pink to the cheeks.  Maybelline ColorSensational Lipcolor in Born With It 015, with a little bit of lip balm mixed in, completed the look.  The end result was a youthful, healthy energy that flattered Herchcovitch's colorful collection.

Across the room, Rolando Beauchamp, a stylist for Bumble & Bumble, was creating amazing updos.  Rolando met with Alexander prior to the season and they decided to go with a tight, clean ponytail.  In order to change up the average slicked back tresses, Rolando explained that "I decided to go with a 'C' part instead of the normal side part."  He divided the hair into two sections and wrapped the bun with the remaining hair.  To achieve this fierce creation, he used Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hair Spray and Bumble and Bumble Gel and Gellac.  The look was sculptural and added a definite twist to the season!  Rolando's key advice for updos is "Hold your head up while pulling your hair back to avoid loose hair at the nape of your neck."  This cleaner, tighter way of creating a ponytail is a great technique for an on-the-go, yet elegant hairstyle!

Backstage at Charlotte Ronson
Backstage at Charlotte Ronson was utter insanity! However, it was nothing close to the hysteria of the front row where Nicky Hilton held court and undoubtedly hoards of photogs were hoping for a Lindsay Lohan sighting. Alas, she was nowhere to be found, though Sam was working the turntables in the corner. Amongst the Today Show camera crew, the team of facialists from the Cygalle Healing Spa pampering models and editors alike, and the numerous photographers and model handlers was Charlotte W. from Maybelline, calmly
giving girls what she described as "A ballerina on the streets of New York. I started out with Mineral Powder all over for a base, then I used the new Rose Illuminator on the eyelids and cheekbones for a little shimmer. I put Stiletto Mascara on the top lashes only, brushed the brows up, and then used Color Sensational on the lips in shade #15." The final result? Gorgeous! Lead hairstylist, Allen Ruiz for Avon went for a ballerina look as well. "We're doing a modern take on the chignon, very very high on the head. We're using Avon Volumizing Finishing Spray all around the head and blowing the hair, in sections up towards the top of the head for the chignon. We left the ends of the hair kind of loose and messy and then blew out the hair around the hairline to give lots of pretty flyaways. Then we're spritzing Advance Techniques Hair Spray to complete the style and hold everything in place."
