Halle Berry celebrates a birthday today. The Oscar, Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG, and an NAACP Image Award-winning actress is 44 years young! She is probably best known for Monster's Ball and other successful films, but she's also Revlon spokeswoman and was runner-up in a Miss USA pageant (1986). While she and longtime boyfriend Gabriel Aubry broke up in April after almost five years together, the couple has a beautiful daughter, Nahla. Backstage at Rag & Bone  Rag & Bone has to be one of my absolute favorites every year. The clothes are just so cool and wearable, and the amazing Gucci Westman never fails to disappoint, delivering gorgeous it-brit girl makeup every year. This season was no exception! "The clothes are so so good this season, there are lots of different silhouettes and textures, plaids, knits, blazers -- so we needed the girl to not get lost in the clothes. This is the look of a really cool girl the day after she went out, kind of like Kate Moss just waking up. How all the cool girls want to look!" she said. "We're using a really pretty kohl eyeliner and the Revlon Double Twist mascara, and then we're just smudging it off with a wet q-tip so that there aren�t any hard lines. On the skin we're using Age Defying Foundation, but only where the girls need it to keep their skin looking really luminous and dewy." Guido Palau was also on hand creating equally beautiful hair. "We're giong for a mid 90's kind of grungy natural look," as he said this, the adorable Lindsay Wixson looked up at me from his chair and growled like a grungy girl -- oh to have had my camera ready! "But this isn't the old grungy hair, we're giving it a modern look, lots of lacquer. We're using Redken's Forceful hairspray and spraying it really close to the hair along the part in front so that it saturates the hair. Then we're blow drying it a little so that it looks kind of wet. The back we're teasing up and leaving it matted." I also got to chat with the wizards from Creative Nail Design who make positively some of the most beautiful colors out there! "For today's show we're using a color called 'Asphalt,' it's a really pretty concrete grey, and using a layer of Super Matte on top, which doesn't make it chalky matte exactly, it just gives the color some depth and texture." As for what to expect this fall, nail wise, "I think last fall there were a lot of gunmetal greys, but this year it's going to be more about heathered colors. Scent Away  Oooh! This morning I got a set of Revlon's new Scents of Summer Scented nail polish, and I'm definitely getting a kick out of it! The yummy polish comes in Cotton Candy, Bubble Gum, Grape Icy, Orange Pop, Peach Smoothie, Ocean Breeze, and Beach. I was pretty intrigued by Beach though, and couldn't figure out why that would be the acid green color... would it smell like Jersey Shore beach? Bod Man Spray? Mountain Dew? That was the shade I tried on first. Alas, it smells like coconutty sunscreen! Look for the line this May and drugstores!
